History of the Business
Dogwood Lake started out as a dream, Harold Wester's dream. In 1984, he bought 40 acres near Lake Malone and started digging a hole. This hole became Dogwood Lake, a five acre spring-fed fresh water lake, our central attraction. The water, crystal clear and fresh, is inspected twice a year and passes with flying colors. Along the lake, Harold trucked umpteen loads of clear white sand, a veritable Daytona Beach in Dunmor's backyard. Next came the campsites, 128, all with water and electric, 81 of them with sewer, with an attached field bed big enough for expansion. Next came the 280 foot full-loop waterslide.
